Trinity Lutheran's Second Annual Spring Fling
TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH “SPRING FLING” IS MAY 30
Fantastic food at unbelievably low prices, games, entertainment, crafts, and a petting zoo are just some of the highlights of the second annual “Spring Fling” at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 408 North Sixth Street, on Saturday, May 30, from 11 AM-4 PM
This event has been planned by the committees of the church as a way of reaching out to residents of Juniata and the rest of the city.
Chairman Tim Brown said, “We want to give our Juniata neighbors an opportunity to meet our members and enjoy some great food and fun at the same time.”
North Sixth Street will be closed between Fourth and Fifth avenues so attendees can have better access to the old-fashioned street fair.
A food court in the church basement will feature hot dogs, sloppy joes, barbecue beef sandwiches, baked beans, potato salad, and pasta salad along with other items prepared by members of the church. The food, including all sandwiches, will be only 25 cents.
Homemade baked goods and candy, ice cream sundaes, cotton candy, kettle corn and popcorn will also be available along with soda and water.
A wide variety of children’s games will be set up in the church parking lot along with a petting zoo and donkey rides. Children will be able to make custom flipflops during a luau.
Entertainment will be provided by the Zeek and Friends Christian Puppet Ministry at 12 Noon and at 2 PM; and Canit, the garbage can percussion ensemble from Hollidaysburg Area Junior High School will perform at 1 PM. Denny Huber, magician and balloon artist, and Steamer, the Altoona Curve mascot, will also be part of the festivities.
The Altoona Fire Department will be present to show their truck and firefighting equipment.
